Getting to know Anika

Having my parents take Anika this weekend and them sharing with us all the things they got a kick out of her helped us take a look at her with different eyes.  She still is Miss Busy-Body, tearing all the toys out, fingers in Kason’s face, and trying to get Kade to react and get mad.  So last night while watching the Twins she and I played around, tickled and wrestled.  We also had opportunities to say when she was good with how she was with Kason and when she was not.  Tonight on our way to the house site Kade and I talked about how Anika does stuff to him to see his reaction and how he should just ignore her and she should stop.  Whether he remembers that is another thing.

And then there is the thing of her being outside….

She always gets mad if someone goes outside without her so I let her walk around at the site and burn off some of that energy.  She doesn’t go far but doesn’t cry for someone to be around her and loves looking at things by herself.  At the end she was getting tired and got upset when she got her hands dirty but she still did great.  We have to look for more opportunities to appreciate our kids more and get to know them better.  Focus on the can-do’s and not so much on the can’t-do’s.
